On the occasion of World Sight Day 2026, Srikiran Institute of Ophthalmology, Kakinada, in collaboration with the District Medical and Health Department, organized a public awareness rally to promote eye health, encourage regular eye examinations, and raise awareness about preventing avoidable blindness.

One of the major highlights was the remarkable participation of Sarada Vidyalayam students, who formed a large human chain in the shape of an eye. This creative display symbolized the importance of protecting vision and captured public attention.
The awareness rally was officially flagged off by Sri Chalamayya Garu, In-charge DMHO. Students, hospital staff, teachers, and healthcare professionals marched together, carrying awareness banners and raising slogans about eye protection and healthy vision.
